Me Thinks I’ve Lost My Mind…

I’ve been battling my weight for the last six years. It’s been the worst the last two and a half. Before I got pregnant, I lost 50 pounds. Then I gained 40 back with my pregnancy, lost 30 gained back 35.
I’ve decided that I’m done with this fight. I’m going to get rid of this weight once and for all. (I’ve probably said that before too… but this time? I mean it.)
So what am I doing to prove that I mean it? I am doing something utterly insane. I have …

Capturing a Moment in Time

Ok, let me open this post with a bit of celebration! I got my first paying gig as a photographer!! So on Monday I will receive my first payment and be a real professional photographer!! (My website and business cards are in the works!)
So today I took Wuzzle to the park for a “practice session” as one of the boys I’m photographing on Monday is 2 weeks younger than her. We had an ok afternoon (photography wise) but she wouldn’t smile at me or the camera… (Although she had a …

One year ago I was posing in what would be Wuzzles room for my 31 week pregnancy shots when I got the genius idea that I should give my third (and final) stab at Project 365. (Of course that shot was horrid, so I decided to wait an extra day and start fresh “tomorrow”!) So, on May 3, 2008 I started this journey of 365 days worth of self portraits.

My husband laughed at me. My dad said it was a nice idea, but I’d never get past day 60. (My …

I am a wimp. Big time. And to make it worse, I’m stubborn.
For example? When I first moved to Colorado, I didn’t have a car. Lucky for me, my boyfriend (Hubby) was willing to let me use his when I needed. The problem? It was a stick shift. The afternoon he taught me to drive his car was by far the worst day of my life. Honestly, I’m surprised we still talk to each other after that day. (Although I know drive a 10 speed semi-truck; and every car we …

While preparing for our wedding (back in 2004) I attempted the Atkins Diet. I failed miserably. Why? Because I’m addicted to carbs! So naturally, when I was thinking of items for my 101 in 1001 list, item #1 is baking bread from scratch.

I’m proud to announce that I have completed that step! For Christmas Eve, we made Chili Soup (with crackers, cheese and salami of course!) and Hubby wanted fresh bread. So I jumped at the chance!! And surprisingly? It was so easy!! And it turned out perfect!

Next time? I …

I’ve completed another task on my 101 in 1001 list!!

13.Keep a “food journal” for a month (Started Mid-October) (This went GREAT and helped me to eat MUCH healthier! I think I’ll keep it up!)

It was actually FAR easier than I’d anticipated!

During the month of November I averaged 1860 calories a day! (That’s following my doctors recommendation of 1800 calories a day since I am currently breast feeding!)

There was only one day I didn’t count my calories, but I did journal what I ate. It was …
