I broke down and bought a “camcorder” yesterday. I am always thinking about doing it, especially since Hubby is gone so much. I thought it’d be nice for him to actually get to see video of things that go on around here while he’s gone. Right?

I am a social Pariah.
At least I feel that way sometimes.
The other day at my MOPS meeting, we had “Tea and Testimony” (sitting around a table, and everyone shares something about their lives.) I sat, listening to all the stories. Commenting where appropriate. Laughing. Crying. Just like everyone else in the room.
It came to be my turn. The first thing I said? “My husband is gone six weeks at a time, then home for six days.” (My topic was “Husbands”) Then it came. I knew it would. It always does. …

We have had a long few days around here, the flu seems to have struck our little corner of the world. Wuzzle has recovered better than I have. (Although, to be fair? She got sick 2 days before I did.)
It’s times like this that life without my husband sucks. I’m on day #2 of not wanting to move from the couch. Day #5 of doing 2 loads of laundry a day, just to make sure my toddler has a clean place to sleep at night, and clean jammies.

One of the benefits of my husband driving a truck and being gone for so many weeks at a time?
I get to have another husband! And, my first husband doesn’t mind a bit. I had to laugh when a friend first referred to my best friend that way. But the more I think about it? The more I agree.
This week alone, he drove 75 miles to tow my car. He also hung a ceiling fan for me. Helped move our motorcycle so I could park a car in the garage. …

Some days I really miss my husband.
Nights are the worst really. I sleep on the couch most nights. I’m not sure why, maybe it’s that I can have the TV on. Maybe it’s that I can notice when the motion lights outside go off. Or because all of the entries and exits of the house are easily accessible, as well as Wuzzle’s room. Perhaps it’s just that I miss having him in bed.
But some nights, I’m actually glad to have the house to myself.

His Capt’n Jack look here proves that. I somehow was not embarrassed to be seen in public with him like this! (Thank Goodness the hat was only for the picture; but the beads? Sadly, they were for real.)

We just spent a wonderful 7 days with Hubby. Wuzzle LOVED having her Daddy home. They were absolutely inseparable. No matter how hard he tried (which wasn’t very hard) he couldn’t get rid of her! Everytime he tried to do something, his little shadow was there with another toy she wanted him to play with.

The poor guy couldn’t even eat dinner alone. Nope. No way. She was right there to help him out. (Unfortunately, she was less willing to help with the dishes. Which meant, that was my job. As …

My husband is the King of Ideas.
Some of them are really good.  Some of them? Really NOT good. Most of them? Never come to fruition. (Thank goodness on the front of the bad ones.)

Since we missed Hubby’s birthday, we’re getting anxious to celebrate when he gets home! (Which is now looking like it will be on Friday.)
I am making a wonderful dinner. I’ve got his favorite dessert (Mississippi Mud Pie) in the freezer. I’ve got a “special” gift for him. But what about Wuzzle? I can’t very well say my “special” gift is from her.
So, she did what any good daughter would do.
She created a mess masterpiece with finger paints!
