It takes more love to share the saddle than it does to share the bed.

I am a wimp. Big time. And to make it worse, I’m stubborn.

For example? When I first moved to Colorado, I didn’t have a car. Lucky for me, my boyfriend (Hubby) was willing to let me use his when I needed. The problem? It was a stick shift. The afternoon he taught me to drive his car was by far the worst day of my life. Honestly, I’m surprised we still talk to each other after that day. (Although I know drive a 10 speed semi-truck; and every car we have owned since then has been a stick shift.)

Well, one of my big things on my “ultimate to-do list” is to learn to drive a motorcycle. This terrifies me, but I want to do it so badly.  (There’s something so exciting about this to me…)

On Thursday we broke down and bought a bike. Hubby had been anxious to get one again (he sold his last one about the time I moved out here seven years ago) and so we finally just did it. And yesterday? My husband, being the saint that he is volunteered to teach me to ride it. (He must’ve forgotten both the incident in teaching me to drive a stick shift, and the time I laid down my best friends bike trying to learn to ride!!)

So after two hours in an emtpy parking lot, I’m getting the hang of it!! I didn’t drop the thing once! And I even got going 15 mph!! (15 freaking miles per hour!!!) I’m such a pimp!! (Ok, not really. That’s kind of pathetic.)

Today he said he’d take me out again!!!

Jacque on the Bike

(And I normally wear a helmet, really I do. I just didn’t have one in my size yet (bought it later) and since I didn’t get going over 15…)
